Beach Pond Drawdown Informational Session with DEEP

There will be an informational session on the proposed four-foot Beach Pond Drawdown that is being requested for the winter of 2026. This session is with members of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to discuss what is expected from property owners who are planning weed remediation or retaining wall repairs in the waterway by their property. DEEP staff will inform property owners on DEEP policies, procedures, expectations, and answer questions regarding a deeper pond drawdown. This session is being held via Zoom on Tuesday, April 22 at 10:30AM. The zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82544767362. This informational session will be recorded and will be posted on the Town of Voluntown YouTube channel. If you don’t have access to zoom, we will have zoom access in the Town Hall Meeting Room where people can participate. If you are not able to attend, you can submit your question(s) ahead of time to First Selectman Hanson at thanson@voluntown.gov, and they will be addressed.
