The Voluntown Baptist Church is used by the Town of Voluntown as an emergency shelter during storm events. They have a food pantry that is open to residents and they are used as an emergency site for Voluntown Elementary School. The current well at the church is failing and they have requested ARPA funds to hook up an existing well or to install a new one. The Board of Selectmen approved up to $50,000 of the ARPA funds to be used for well hook up or replacement.
The Voluntown Baptist Church Well Project Committee was established at the September 13th Selectmen’s meeting to oversee this project.
