"Time to Own" Homeownership Assistance Program
Connecticut recently launched the "Time to Own" program, which provides funding to low and moderate-income first-time homebuyers for down payments and closing costs. Under the program, which is administered by the CT Housing Finance Authority, funding will cover up to a 20% down payment and up to 5% in closing costs. Each year, 10% of the principal balance will be forgiven annually until the loan is fully forgiven on the 10th anniversary date of the loan closing. Please visit the website of Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
Voluntown has its own Housing Authority, which operates out of Greenwood Manor at 239 Main Street. Greenwood Manor offers rental housing for income eligible adults ages 62+ or adults with disabilities 18+. More information in this link.
